Dear Pastor,
I trust that this letter finds you enjoying the blessings of God in every area of your life and ministry.
Within this web site you will find an outline concerning the church of Laodicea. This is the seventh church of the Seven Churches of Asia in the book of Revelation. These seven churches are found in the first three chapters. Chapter two and three have seven messages, and each tailored to an individual church. These churches represent seven historical ages of Christian Church. The book of Revelation is a prophetic book, and it shows us the future. (Rev 1:1 KJV) "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; . . ." The book of Revelation was happening while John was receiving it. John was a part of the very first church Ephesus. The final church will be Laodicea. It will be the "End Time" church. It will be where the "action" is found just before the Rapture of the church. The message is a stern rebuke to Laodicea to abandon their whole course and to return to the values of a Philadelphian church age. If the general view of the Rapture of the Church being very close in time is correct, then the Laodicean church must be here. It must be very well developed and for those who still have sight, easy to see. Recognizing Laodicea and her traits is important. Jesus vomits this church out and is seen standing outside knocking on the door. Laodicea does not go in the Rapture of the church.
We must avoid this movement at all cost. Jesus reveals the true condition of this church. Its leadership feels that it needs nothing. Jesus told them that they are "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked": Jesus vomits, rebukes, chastens this movement and is seen standing on the outside knocking on its door. This church is in great danger and is dangerous to any who are around her. The sixth church, which is Philadelphia, is warned not to let any man to take their crown. Philadelphia is a holiness church that keeps alive the promise of the Rapture. Philadelphia’s pastor is told, "Rev. 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown." He is to protect what he has. He is to resist change at all cost. Philadelphia is just the way Jesus wants her. She is to hold fast. It will be a mere man that will try to introduce change into the church. He likes nothing about Laodicea and it is her pastor that is trying to change Philadelphia.
The longer one is around Laodicean type theologies the more likely they will lose their spiritual eye sight. Only the Bible can protect our sight and discernment abilities. I have searched the Bible and history to find out every thing I could that concerned Laodicea. I want to avoid her at all cost, she will cause those whom she seduces to miss the Rapture of the church. This outline available to you is what I have discovered. It has been an eye opener for me and I pray it will be a blessing to you. Please take time to study it. If you see something I got wrong, please share it with me. If you find this outline to be enlightening and useful, please share it any where you like. You may feel free to copy it as often as you like. If you are a pastor, I would be happy to send you this outline in booklet form free of charge. You are very important to Work of God. If the devil can take your spiritual sight, he will use you to blind the flock you have oversight of.
It is my prayer that God will preserve our spiritual eye sight and protect our spiritual discernment. Making the Bible, the final authority is the only way this can be done. Thank you for prayerfully taking the time to studying this material.
In His Service,
Raymond L. Shockley
